INDY Cinema Group are proud to present a collaboration with Frameline, bringing you a specially curated programme of films to celebrate key figures and activists from the LGBTQ+ community.
From documentaries about pioneering queer artists and activists in the 60s, to contemporary stories of leadership and empowerment, the programme celebrates queer communities. At the same time, it delves into the complexity, nuance and joy of the LGBTQ+ experience in different parts of North America with intersections of race, class, gender and sexuality.
Founded in 1977, this San Francisco International LGBTQ+ Film Festival is the longest-running, largest and most widely recognized LGBTQ+ film exhibition event in the world. As a community event with an annual attendance of 60,000+, the Festival is the most prominent and well-attended LGBTQ+ arts program in the Bay Area. Frameline also presents year-round exhibitions, including Frameline Encore, a free film series highlighting diverse, socially relevant works.
